Au Bon Pain launches 17th café in Bangalore, plans 40 outlets by year-end

Au Bon Pain, the US-based bakery café chain through its master franchisee Spencer Retail Limited, has launched its 17th outlet in Bangalore at Koramangala. By the end of this year, the chain will open 40 outlets in the city. It is also looking at expanding its brand in other cities and by the next financial year intends to open 80 cafes.

The restaurant spans over an area of 1,115 sq ft with a seating capacity for 56 people.

Speaking at the launch, Subbanna Kannur, business head, Au Bon Pain India, said, "We are in constant expansion mode. The 17th café in Koramangala is located in the vicinity of several educational institutions, offices and calorie-conscious residents making it ideal for us to grow and develop in this trade channel. Our growth is a result of the immense support that we have been receiving from our loyal patrons."

It is recognised as America's healthiest restaurant in India and known for its range of healthy and hygienic food choices. Among the additions to the range at the 17th restaurant are schezwan paneer sandwich, schezwan chicken sandwich, dal kulcha and a variety of desserts.

In Bangalore, Au Bon Pain flagship café is set up at Mantri Square Mall, at Malleswaram. The stores across the city serve a 'build-it yourself' range and assortment of breakfast, lunch and dinner like soups, stews, sandwiches, salads, bread & bakery items, confectionaries, besides hot and cold beverages.
