In a bid to build businesses based on Indian ideas and with an aim to create and support grassroot level innovations, the Future Group has taken up an initiative-Khoj Lab-to groom cookie-makers from a remote belt of Ahmedabad.
Interestingly, the product has seen good response in a short time for the fact that it has just penetrated the market. The cookie, a first-of-its-kind nutraceutical product, has been developed by three tribal women innovators from Gujarat, under the aegis of National Innovation Foundation (NIF).
" What's striking about these cookies is that it contains natural ingredients and are available in all Food Bazar stores in two pack sizes of 100 gm and 200 gm," Leeladhar Singh, corporate communications manager, Future Group, told FnB News.
The cookies, available under four categories - 7 Ananj, Cornif, Kodri and Farari - are certified by the Central Food Technological Research Institute for being rich in calcium, proteins, iron, omega fatty acids, dietary fibres and phosphorus.
Singh stated that the idea behind the lab was to create a national platform for all cookie- makers across the country incorporating customer insights and improving marketing while the patent remains confined to its original innovator.
