Keep up the good work
Saturday, 17 November, 2007, 08 : 00 AM [IST]
s achieving another milestone and the kind of service, which this magazine has rendered to the food industry, is indeed unparallel. With the food industry growing very rapidly particularly in the northern region of the country, of course, for that matter throughout the country, the importance of food sector is set to grow manifold in the years to come. There is a need for a magazine, which can take up the entire industry in its perspective, present a balanced viewpoint and give the correct report to the people who are interested in it. For those of us who have been associated with the food industry it is a source of information, knowledge as well as of the trends, which keep coming in. I wish all the best to the magazine in the years to come and I hope that it would continue to serve the interest of the industry it has been doing all along.

Asad Wasi, Secretary, Federation of Biscuit Manufacturers of India:

It is a pleasure to know that Food & Beverage News is completing three years of publication. It has given a lot of good and useful information for the various sectors of food processing and food industry and even for food technology. I would like to compliment the Editor, the editorial staff and correspondents for their nice presentation and coverage. It is a very attractive weekly. I wish them all success and further progress.

K L Radhakrishnan, Editor -Indian Food Packer, All India Food Processors' Association:

We congratulate Food & Beverage News on the occasion of their Third Anniversary. The magazine has been informative and useful in keeping pace with the pulse of the sector.

Vinita Bali, CEO, Britannia Industries Ltd:

"India is hot. The service sector now comprises 55% of GDP. Foreign capital has poured into India in recent years in all areas and one can safely say that to enter India now is not late at all. One particular industry, the food service industry, is attracting much attention. With this in mind, I'd say F&BNews is a very informative publication. Even the sister publication, Ingredients Asia, carries stories with an interesting angle. F&B News covers a lot of topics and gets to the nitty gritty of the F&B industry. The range of topics and the way they are analysed is pretty good. But I think it still needs to get more inputs from, say, correspondents in Tokyo or Venezuela to give it a more international flair. "

Harry P Cheng, CEO, Maido Enterprises Pvt Ltd and President & Representative Director, LaDitta Limited:

Basically, F&B News' special appeal lies in its focus and the content it carries. Not many publications write on these topics. But it could have more news features, more interviews of people from the industry to give it more weightage. It could also have more colour pages with more pictures, which would make it look more attractive.

Bhavika Jhaveri, Assistant Manager, Trac Rep, a leading destination marketing company observes:

A welcome suggestion. But the problem is that most of the industry and association leaders do not respond to our requests for interviews, their suggestions and expert articles. Even e-mail questionnaires remain unanswered. More colour pages means still higher production cost and it has to be matched by support from the industry in the form of advertisements.

- Editor

Food & Beverage News is doing a fine job in focusing the issues related to the food processing industry. Though there are informative pieces on every segment of the food processing industry, you may publish some technical articles covering the latest developments in the country as well as abroad. Articles from experts would, no doubt, further boost the image of the already popular newspaper.

The publication covers government policies, regulatory affairs etc. on a regular basis. However, you should include the reaction, opinion and feedback from the industry more frequently. Since it's a B2B publication, it should serve as a real platform for airing the views expectations of the industry.

While covering the events in detail, you should include photographs. Most of the time you publish photographs not related to the report or event. This is sometimes misleading. In fact, you should include a page or two for news photographs with a small write-up.

You should also cover moré international news.
