Backed by successful 21 consecutive editions of Aahar in New Delhi, India Trade Promotion Organisation is launching the first southern edition of AAHAR Autumn Show at Chennai Trade Centre, from September 20 to 23, 2006. The launch of the Chennai edition is also an acknowledgement of the growing potential of processed food and associated sectors in the Southern region in raising the profile and quantum of India's export in this priority area of the economy.

The fair is being organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO)with the support of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Association of Resource Companies for the Hospitality Industry (ARCHI), New Delhi, Confederation of Indian Food Trade & Industry (CIFTI), New Delhi, All India Food Processors Association, New Delhi and Hotel & Restaurant Equipment Manufacturers Association of India (HOTREMAI). The annual series of Aahar in New Delhi has, over the years, evolved into an ideal forum for initiation of joint venture agreements and technology transfer processes that assure considerable returns. The Chennai edition of AAHAR has its solid foundation on the successful and established track record of New Delhi version of the fair.

Rajat Pandhi, managing director, Panban Sales & Marketing, says, "We are the co sponsors of this show and it is on my suggestion that AAHAR has been also organised in South India. We have participated in all the AAHAR shows and it has been the best and most cost effective show in India. It gives more exposure to hotels in India specially South India."
