Uttar Pradesh Government's food park is now set to offer new investment opportunities to food processing industries.
UP State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDA) has finished construction work on roads in the Mega Food Park, Baheri, near Bareilly. The 250 acre land will create a window of opportunities to food processing industries.
"The Mega Food Park is being developed on 250 acre land in Baheri near Bareilly. The land has been booked for companies in the food park. The entire process is kept online. A total of 30 acre has been reserved for Hindustan and it will set up a bottling plant there. There will be a primary centre in the food park, where farmers will be able to sell their goods to entrepreneurs."said Mayur Maheshwari, CEO, UPSIDA.
The cluster based Mega Food Park Scheme approach envisages creation of state of the art support infrastructure in a well-defined agricultural and horticultural zone for setting up of modern food processing units in the industrial plots provided in the park with a well-set supply chain.
The scheme aims at providing a mechanism to link agricultural production to the market by bringing together farmers, processors and retailers to ensure maximising value addition, minimising wastage, increasing farmers' income and creating employment opportunities, particularly in the rural sector.
