Swiggy Dineout's Great Indian Restaurant Festival (GIRF), which embarked on the 'Pay half the bill' witnessed a positive response as more than 20 lakh diners collectively generated revenues to the tune of Rs 139 crore for its 6,500 restaurant partners across 30 cities. Diners across India availed flat 50% off on their dining bills and dined their heart out! Rohit Kapoor, CEO, food marketplace - Swiggy, said, "The GIRF this year surpassed all expectations, emerging as the most remarkable edition to date. With an expanded platform on Swiggy and an enlarged user base, it transformed into an unmissable extravaganza for food enthusiasts across India, clocking in 6 lakh deals. Including 10 new cities, coupled with unparalleled savings bestowed upon users, elevating its status as the ultimate culinary event."
“GIRF 2023 sets new records as one of the diners spent 50,000 in a single transaction and saved Rs 27,485 on their dining, showcasing their limitless love for food. Another foodie purchased a 364 deals. Yet another spent Rs 4,25,724 throughout the entire GIRF season, while also managing to save a whopping Rs 1,70,000 during this time. Further, Mothers’ Day weekend turned out to be the peak dining out moment during the festival with 30K bookings. Indians sure love to pamper their moms,” he said. Ankit Mehrotra, co-founder, Dineout, said, “Our enticing offers provided Rs 1,582.31 in savings on each bill leading to a total of Rs 100 crore for the entire festival. HDFC Bank Credit Card users cumulatively saved Rs 1 crore on top of the running GIRF discounts.”
Bengaluru ranks as the city with the highest fine dining expenses. Delhi had the highest pub expenditure among all cities. Top restaurants like Barbeque Nation (28 outlets across India) and Taco Bell (113 outlets across India) have garnered an impressive number of 12,889 and 17,929 orders respectively.
