At the World Luxury Restaurant Awards, held in Vietnam, Sofitel Mumbai BKC’s Jyran - Tandoor Dining and Lounge won awards for the best luxury hotel restaurant in the regional category and best Indian cuisine in the country category.
The event, which unveiled the best restaurants across the globe from a list of 81 categories, witnessed the attendance of over 180 guests from over 50 countries.
In 2012, Sofitel Mumbai BKC unveiled Jyran – Tandoor Dining and Lounge. The cuisine at the restaurant, which derives its name from the Persian word for lost love, is inspired by that of the Northwest Indian Frontier Province (NWFP).
It was among the 1,000 entrants for these accolades, on which over 1,00,000 voters voiced their opinions. Besides voting, there was a multitude of factors that came into play for evaluating the winners. These included the brand, the location, the overall guest satisfaction from online reviews, the services and facilities, the design and the menu offerings.
Biswajit Chakroborty, general manager, Sofitel Mumbai BKC, said, “We are extremely delighted to win in two categories for Jyran in this prestigious global award. Over the years we have received some excellent reviews and feedback for the culinary experience we offer at our signature restaurant.”
“Our teams have given special attention to detail not only in menu creation, but also in innovating the ambiance, and I would like to thank our chefs and service staff for their contribution in adding another feather to Jyran’s cap with these awards,” he added.
