Pune’s popular restaurant Soy Como Soy has taken centre stage since the launch of their Nikkei style cuisine, and is all set to launch a new menu, promising a unique culinary experience, this March.

Nikkei cuisine, a harmonious blend of Japanese and Peruvian culinary traditions, has sparked a global interest among chefs, restaurateurs and diners alike in the past few years. With Soy Como Soy, Iceberg Hospitality founded by Manpreet Uppal and Sandy Singh brings this harmonious blend of vibrant flavours and traditions to diners’ plates in Pune.

Spanish for ‘I am what I am,’ Soy Como Soy embraces the unapologetic, bold nature of Nikkei cuisine while also paying tribute to ‘soy,’ the indispensable Asian condiment. Channeling the intrigue and intimacy of a speakeasy, the vibrancy and individuality of an izakaya and the brightness of Nikkei cuisine, Soy Como Soy promises to indulge plates and palates in textures, aromas and flavours like never before.

Some standouts from the menu include Birria Taco and Tonkatsu Ramen; given the importance of fresh fish in the two cultures, the Soy Como Soy Cold Bar offers their bestseller Scallop Tiradito, Citrus Ceviche, Seabass Ceviche, Tuna Tartare, and more. Plates like Peruvian rice - Aji Amarillo peppers that has veg & sea food options, Miso Black Cod, Buff Yaki Niku and more. Sushi & Sashimi take centre stage with many offerings including the Vegan Tuna, Asparagus & Watermelon, Rock Shrimp, Unagi and Salmon. Apart from these, they have also introduced Nigiri, Dim Sums, Tempura, Cheung Fun and more made in various styles.

The bar menu features cocktails such as Rubio - Light Whisky, Japanese Green Melon, Lime Juice, Carbonated Ginger Mizu; Tic Teq To - Tequila, Orange Amaro, Rosso Infused with Kosher Salt; Met my Match-a - Matcha Infused Tequila, Yuzu Tart, Aromatic Bitters; and Ume Marron - Ume Infused Japanese Whiskey, Campari, Fernet Branca.
