ProPak Asia 2025: A carbon-neutral vision for the future of processing and packaging

ProPak Asia, one of the region’s most significant trade events for the processing and packaging industry, is back with its 32nd edition this year. The show continues to lead the way in delivering innovative, sustainable, and forward-thinking solutions for businesses and stakeholders across the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, personal care, and household product industries.

This year’s event is themed “Carbon-Neutral Pathways to a Sustainable Processing and Packaging Ecosystem.” The theme reflects the growing global demand for more sustainable business practices and the industry’s need to innovate towards greener alternatives. Compared to last year’s theme, “Empowering Sustainability Processing and Packaging Success with Ideation, Innovation, Investment,” the 2025 edition takes the sustainability conversation further shifting from aspiration to actionable frameworks aimed at building a truly sustainable ecosystem in processing and packaging.

Highlights of the Event

ProPak Asia 2025 boasts an impressive lineup of event features and showcases that emphasize innovation, digitalization, sustainability, and real-time problem-solving. Here are some of the key highlights:
  • Future Food Corner: A dynamic platform for exploring the future of food systems, focusing on the integration of manufacturing and packaging technologies. This feature offers attendees insights into innovative solutions shaping the food industry.
  • Lab & Test Theater: A specialized area focused on the latest advancements in laboratory technology, quality control, and testing methodologies.
  • Packaging Design Clinic: This unique zone offers free one-on-one consultations for brand owners and SMEs. The topics include brand building, packaging raw material selection, aesthetics design, structural design, and cost-price strategy. The clinic is co-hosted with Thai PDA.
  • DIPROM Pavilion: This pavilion highlights the dynamic forces driving economic growth and technological advancement across key sectors. It brings together contributions from four pioneering divisions: Division of Creative Industry Development (IDC), Division of Logistics, Division of Digital Industry Development, and Division of Innovation and Industry Technology Development (DIIT).
  • Design Innovation Hub: A space to explore the future of design and technology with top software and tools for packaging design. This hub showcases the Tomorrow Solution in design innovation.
  • Packaging Showcase: Visitors can witness award-winning packaging solutions recognized by ThaiStar, AsiaStar, and WorldStar awards. This area highlights cutting-edge packaging technologies and creative designs setting global standards in sustainable and visually captivating packaging.
  • Design Box Booth: Where innovation meets excellence in packaging design. Thai designer Somchana Kangwarnjit (Champ), founder of Prompt Design, presents his award-winning creations that have gained recognition in global packaging competitions.
  • GIZ Booth: This booth showcases the Eco-design Sparking Innovation Award, highlighting innovative eco-design solutions that contribute to the future of sustainability.
  • Digitalization Village: A hub of cutting-edge innovation and collaboration. The zone features participation from the Thai-German Institute (TGI), Center of Robotic Excellence (CORE), Thai Automation and Robotics Association (TARA), Cyber Innovation Promotion Association of Technology (CIPAT), and the Institute of Field Robotics (FIBO) - KMUTT. Attendees can experience advancements in automation, robotics, cyber innovation, and digital transformation.
  • AIP & PIDA Showcase: Featuring the PIDA Packaging Award Showcase, this area presents the finest achievements in Australasian packaging. It emphasizes eco-friendly materials and creative solutions that represent the future of packaging.
  • PPKA Zero Hunger Walk: A unique initiative where every step taken by visitors is converted into a donation to provide meals to those in need. This walk embodies the event’s humanitarian spirit, combining engagement with real social impact.
New Launches and Participation
Many exhibitors at this year’s ProPak Asia will feature their first product launches not only in Thailand but across Asia and globally. This makes the 2025 edition a hotspot for discovering groundbreaking technologies and solutions in real-time.

The event is expected to draw over 60,000 attendees and host more than 2,000 exhibitors from various sectors within the processing and packaging industries.

Country Pavilions
There will be 15 international pavilions representing 14 countries, including Australia, Bavaria (Germany),China, France, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, North America, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan ROC, Spain and United Kingdom

These pavilions will showcase products, services, and innovations from each country, facilitating cross-border business opportunities and partnerships.

Seminars, Workshops, and Conferences
ProPak Asia 2025 features several high-profile workshops and seminars catering to different stakeholders in the processing and packaging industry.

Two key workshops will be conducted by AIP – The Australasian Institute of Packaging, a long-standing partner of ProPak Asia. These sessions will be led by the AIP’s Global Packaging Forum, which includes 19 expert speakers.

Another major seminar session will be conducted by the Thai Beverage Industry Association, titled The Future of Beverages in Thailand 2025. Additionally, there will be a global-level session moderated by Luke Tay from CornucopiaFuturescapes called Executive Talk: Agri Food.

These workshops and sessions aim to offer actionable insights, address challenges, and explore emerging trends that define the packaging and processing industry today.

Co-Located Event: ASEAN Paper Bangkok
This year, ProPak Asia will be co-hosted with ASEAN Paper Bangkok, the region’s premier event for the pulp, paper, packaging, and tissue industries.

ASEAN Paper brings together a broad range of products such as jumbo paper rolls, paper and tissue finished products, packaging, printing, carton and board, and machinery for paper production, conversion, and wastepaper recycling. It is a convergence point for manufacturers, buyers, sellers, traders, and other professionals across the globe and provides access to the latest technologies, product innovations, and market trends in the paper industry.

Focused Trend: Carbon-Neutral Future

In line with its theme, Carbon-Neutral Pathways, the dominant trend at ProPak Asia this year is the drive towards carbon neutrality. With increasing pressure from both customers and governments, businesses are compelled to adopt sustainable practices. ProPak Asia 2025 serves as a platform for these businesses to explore solutions, connect with experts, and adopt strategies that pave the way for a carbon-neutral and sustainable future.
