PFNDAI to host seminar on nutrition and innovation in Mumbai

The Protein Foods and Nutrition Development Association of India (PFNDAI), will host a high-impact seminar, ‘Innovative Food Industry: Responsibly Catering to Nutritional and Economic Progress in India’, on May 30, 2025, at Hotel Kohinoor Continental, Mumbai, from 9am onwards.
The day-long event will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, scientists, and nutritionists to discuss the future of food processing, focusing on nutrition, innovation, and responsible marketing. The seminar features three sessions - Food Processing Promotes Nutrition and Health, Dr Sanjog Surve, Abhijit Shribas (Kellanova), and nutritionist Naaznin Husein will share their insights. The second session will be on Curbing Unhealthy Trends with Responsible Marketing, Shilpa Wadhwa (Nestlé), Dr Sujatha Jayaraman (HUL), and Milli Bhattacharya (Coca Cola), will speak on the topic, and the last session will be on Food Industry – The Enabler from Farm to Fork, with Dr Bhoopendra Singh (Vista Processed Foods), Dr Nandita Iyer, and a panel discussion moderated by Dr Joseph Lewis (PFNDAI), including experts from Reliance Retail, Marico, Herbalife, Kapiva, Nutricircle, and Food Adroit, will be held.
Key dignitaries include chief guest Hemant Patil, chairman of the Balasaheb Thackeray Haridra Research and Training Centre, Harinder Oberoi, director, NIFTEM, and keynote speaker Bhupinder Singh, chief executive officer, Vista Processed Foods, Dr Shatadru Sengupta, Hardcastle Restaurants Pvt. Ltd., and Dr Shashank Bhalkar (PFNDAI), will also address the gathering, with an introduction by Dr Prabodh Halde (Marico).
The seminar highlights the pivotal role of food science and responsible practices in addressing India’s nutritional and economic needs, making it a must-attend for food industry stakeholders.
