The NutrifyToday C-Suite SumFlex 2025, held in Mumbai, emerged not merely as an industry summit but as a defining moment for the global nutraceutical ecosystem. The two-day, precision-led gathering brought together the most influential leaders from pharma, nutraceuticals, investment, policy, and medical science to co-create strategic directions for scaling the sector far beyond linear growth, anchoring India’s aspiration to become a $100 billion nutraceutical powerhouse.
The event, described by delegates as “a synchronised prayer for global well-being”, became the stage where vision met velocity. Stakeholders from over six countries — including United States, Malaysia, and South Korea — convened, defying geopolitical uncertainties, to drive conversations that matter.
Amit Srivastava, founder of Nutrify Today, said, “What we witnessed at SumFlex 2025 was not an industry event — it was a declaration of purpose. We are no longer chasing growth for the sake of scale. We are architecting a future where responsible nutrition becomes the right of every global citizen. This is not commerce. This is karma in action.”
This year’s theme — How to scale up, accelerate, and disrupt the nutraceutical industry’s growth curve beyond annual linearity — was brought to life through deep, intentional dialogue and actionable strategies.
India is currently experiencing its own nutraceutical gold rush, echoing the transformation the United States witnessed in the early 2000s when the sector crossed USD 15 billion. Fast-forward to 2023, and India’s nutraceutical industry stands at USD 18 billion and is growing at a robust CAGR of 13.5%, according to the Invest India report.
With ambitious policy support and sectoral alignment through initiatives like Project One Future, India is strategically poised to leapfrog into a global leadership position in responsible nutrition. As new schemes are rolled out to integrate the nutraceutical value chain into the USD 3 trillion food and Nutrition supply chain ecosystem, the country is building the runway to a USD 100 billion Indian nutraceuticals industry by 2047.
Dr. Anand Swaroop, president of Cepham USA, said, “India is no longer just a manufacturing base — it is emerging as the mind and soul of the global nutraceutical ecosystem. At SumFlex, we saw the convergence of science, policy, and investment like never before. The $100 billion vision is not a dream anymore — it is an evolving reality powered by collaboration and conviction.”
Dr Nitin Pangotra, general secretary of India Chambers and Advisor to the Ministry of MSME, unveiled a Memorandum of Understanding with the Rural Economic Forum. This initiative will integrate Indian nutraceutical enterprises into the USD 3 trillion food and nutraceutical supply chain right from farming to finished dosage form in the warehouse, bringing rural and micro-enterprise innovations into the international wellness market.
The summit’s handpicked guest list included senior leaders from pharmaceuticals, investments, academia, and healthcare, creating a truly cross-functional strategic melting pot. Some of the top Distinguished speakers included: Shivam Puri, MD & CEO, Cipla Health; Ganesh Nayak, executive director, Zydus Group; Amal Kelshikar, executive director, Torrent Pharma; Dipanjan Basu, co-founder & partner, Fireside Ventures; Anil Matai, president, OPPI; Shantaprasad Nagarmath, CEO, Dr Reddy’s & Nestlé Health Science Ltd.; Sanjaya Mariwala, executive chairman, Omniactive Health; Saif Mekhri, CEO, BiogenExtracts; Suresh Garg, MD, Zeon Lifesciences; Dr Swaroop; Tim Opler, managing director, Stifel; William Hood, managing director, William Hood & Company; Heather Wainer, chief business officer, WholeFoods Magazine; Dr Bharat Shah, chief nephrologist, Gleneagles Hospitals; Dr Narendra Malhotra, MD, Ujala Cygnus Rainbow Hospitals.
These industry luminaries engaged in key discussions on scaling up acquisitions, commercialising novel ingredients, and exploring AI-powered instant commerce models that can reduce product licensing and go-to-market timelines to just 15 days.
SumFlex 2025 also became a strategic launchpad for major players - Dr Reddy’s and Nestlé Health Science jointly introduced a new responsible nutrition product: Celevida Diafiber. Leveraging the summit's credibility and influence to reach key stakeholders and prescribers solidified the C-Suite platform’s evolution into a prestigious global launch zone.
The summit saw the unveiling of the world’s first reference tool for medical doctors to verify nutraceutical claims — Rx.NutrifyToday.com. The platform currently offers open access and will upgrade by October 2025 to a doctor-exclusive portal featuring ingredient toxicology, mechanisms of action, and scientific substantiation.
