Monarch Legacy Edition by Tilaknagar Industries Ltd., has made history by becoming the only Indian brandy to win at the prestigious London Spirits Competition 2025. In its debut year, it earned a bronze medal in the brandy category — a breakthrough moment for Indian brandy on the global stage and the first accolade for the country’s only 100% pure grape luxury brandy that is crafted with a blend of French and Indian grape spirits.

Held annually in UK, the London Spirits Competition is one of the most respected events in the global spirits industry. Entries are judged not just on taste, but also on packaging and value by an influential jury of bartenders, retail buyers, and experts who help shape the world’s top bars and shelves. To ensure that the judging process is fair and transparent, the taste and value scores are assigned through blind tasting. The judges only view the product packaging after all quality and value scores have been entered. This year’s edition of the competition had over 500 entries from more than 30 countries.

Brandy is India’s second-largest category within the Indian Made Foreign Liquor segment, yet it has seen relatively little disruption or innovation over the years. That narrative is changing, which has now made history as the only Indian brandy to win at the prestigious London Spirits Competition 2025.

Amit Dahanukar, chairman & managing director, Tilaknagar Industries Ltd., said, “This is a huge win — not just for Monarch, but for Indian brandy. We launched Monarch to shift the conversation around Indian brandy. This complex spirit has so much potential when it’s made with care — but it often does not get the recognition it deserves. With over forty years of expertise in brandy-making, we felt a responsibility to change that. For Monarch’s very first international showing to earn a win like this — it’s a strong validation of everything we set out to do.”

Sanaya Dahanukar, marketing manager, Tilaknagar Industries Ltd., said, “In a contest dominated by celebrated brandy-producing nations such as France, Spain, and Australia, Monarch’s recognition marks a significant milestone—not just for the brand, but for India’s evolving spirits landscape, particularly the brandy market. And we’re excited to lead this shift.”
