Cocoashala, part of Cocoatrait, which is an initiative to promote knowledge, production and consumption of fine chocolates in India, has partnered with Capco, one of the leading manufacturers of Materials Testing and Sample Preparation Equipment, from Ipswich, Suffolk, UK.
The company initiated by Poonam Chordia and L Nitin Chordia will set up a functional/demonstration bean to bar making unit in Chennai using the cocoa winnower from Capco and will be India’s first and one-of-its-kind chocolate school in Asia to do so.

The objective is to spread the art and science of bean to bar and fine chocolate making to the audience in India. It will serve as a platform for students and enthusiasts who wish to improve their knowledge about cocoa/chocolates at the basic and advanced levels. This will further establish Capco as the most preferred Materials Testing and Sample Preparation Equipment supplier globally.

Starting August 2016, Cocoashala shall provide an opportunity to students and enthusiasts to learn and relive the art of bean to bar and fine chocolate making using the world’s best laboratory scale equipment. Cocoashala shall also be distributing Capco products in India.

The access to best equipment is a must and this investment is essential to grow and spread the art of bean to bar and fine chocolate making in India, according to L Nitin Chordia, founder, Cocoashala, and India’s only certified chocolate taster and judge at the International Chocolate Awards, London.

Andrew Robertson from Capco, UK, believes that India is currently at the nascent stages of developing their bean to bar market and has now started to show a lot of interest in fine chocolate making. “We have serviced many laboratories globally with such test equipments.”

“Cocoashala will work with farmers and also the relevant stakeholders in the cocoa/chocolate industry to help develop better products and also provide an opportunity for enthusiasts to see and experience this equipment in action in India itself. It will be operational in September 2016 and shall offer a host of interesting chocolate making classes at the basic and advanced levels and be a platform for chocolate lovers to relive the art of chocolate making and enjoy chocolates. We hope  that this demonstration unit will inspire many people in the Indian chocolate industry,” said Chordia.
