Taj Coromandel Chennai, an iconic landmark in the heart of the city, celebrates five decades of unmatched hospitality and timeless sophistication. And what better way to celebrate this milestone than by resurrecting the flavours of the past at its cherished restaurant, Anise.

Named after star anise, the popular Indian spice, Anise is a contemporary all-day-dining restaurant that serves a variety of world flavours, from regional and Italian to Mediterranean, European and coastal dishes. As part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the hotel, executive chef Sujan Mukherjee and his team of master chefs have recreated the exquisite flavours of the 1980s that was served at the restaurant that came before Anise – the Pavilion. This special legacy menu, brimming with nostalgic flavours, is available at Anise until May 31, at a 50% discount.

The vegetarians can savour this nostalgic menu that includes Melon Feta Salad; Vegetable and Cheese Shashlik; Fauladi Kebab; Paneer Kurchan; Ricotta and Spinach Ravioli (with Sage Butter and Parmesan Cheese); Match Point Special Pizza (Fresh Mozzarella, Parmesan Cheese Spinach and Spanish Olives); and Grilled Exotic Vegetables and Polenta (Pink Peppercorn and Smoked Tomato Sauce). Some classic offering for the non-vegetarians includes Chicken Tikka & Raw Mango Pizza; Murgh Kurchan; Spaghetti Ala Carbonara (Spaghetti, Egg Yolk, Cream and Parmesan); Honey and Garlic Roast Chicken; Marinated Prawns (with Cocktail Sauce); Lobster Thermidor; and Kalamari Fritters.

Don’t miss the exotic desserts such as Fresh Coconut Cream Brulee; Bull’s Eye with Ice-Cream; and Jalebi Milli Feuilli. The beverage menu will transport you to the days of the past with timeless drinks like Shirley Temple (Ginger ale, lime, grenadine syrup, cherries); Pina Colada (Pineapple, coconut cream, lime); Blue Lagoon (Blue Curacao syrup, lemon, soda); and the classic Milkshakes (Vanilla / Chocolate).
