Bigbasket to kick off Freedom 47 sales; Offer discounts from Aug 5-15

Bigbasket, India’s largest online supermarket, is all set to kick off its Freedom 47 sale ahead of Independence Day. Starting August 5, 2019, bigbasketeers can avail a minimum of 47 per cent off on 500-plus top products under categories such as fruits, vegetables, organic staples, branded snacks, breads, cosmetics, cleaning and kitchen items for a period of 10 days.

Products from over 50 leading brands including HUL, Dabur and P&G are on offer, and the company expects a 30 per cent rise in customer visits during the sale.
 
First-time customers can redeem 100 per cent cashback of up to Rs 1,000 on a minimum purchase of Rs 1,000. The offers are live in the 26 Indian cities Bigbasket is operational in.

Bigbasket is a market leader in the online grocery segment, and offers everything from fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, juices, tea, spices, kitchen essentials, toiletries, electronics such as LED bulbs and baby products.

The company has recently expanded its offerings by adding beauty and household products which come with the same-day delivery option at attractive prices.
 
Speaking about the sale, K B Nagaraju, chief customer experience officer, Bigbasket, said, “Bigbasket is back with exciting discounts and offers as a part of its Freedom 47 sale. Customer satisfaction and engagement have always been at the core of our operations.”

“We are happy to announce irresistible offers like 47 per cent discount and 100 per cent cashback during our Freedom 47 sale, allowing Bigbasketeers to get maximum gains and savings along with convenience of doorstep delivery. We expect about 1.5 million customers to shop from our app and the website during the sale period,” he added.
 
Anticipating the heavy demand, Bigbasket has already stocked its distribution centres with products and doubled its efforts towards better capacity management. The executives have been prepped for timely delivery of products.
 
Bigbasket’s operations have expanded to 26 cities in India recording about one lakh customer orders per day. The company has a registered customer base of 12 million customers.

With the recent funding by Mirae Asset - Naver Asia Growth Fund, CDC Group, and the Alibaba Group, Bigbasket secured its place in India’s unicorn club. It aims to double its revenue to Rs 6,300 crore by FY20.
