Bangladesh to set up lab to rein in food adulteration, says PM Hasina

Bangladesh will set up a specialised laboratory to rein in food adulteration.
This was stated by the country’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, during her address at a programme marking the National Food Safety Day 2019 in Dhaka. She added that the facility will have its branches in all divisional cities.
Food adulteration has become rampant in parts of Bangladesh in recent years. Against this backdrop, the Bangladeshi government recently held mobile courts in Dhaka and elsewhere in the country to curb the malpractice and castigate the agencies.
