Global soft drinks and snacks major PepsiCo has said that its innovations in India were being adapted for the firm's other international markets with the products gaining interest from overseas.
Snacks like Kurkure and Aliva, and lemon-flavoured drink Nimbooz were some of the successful innovations in India that had attracted attention from outside.
"Other geographies have shown interest in some of the innovations done in India and have taken the learnings from Indian experiences," a PepsiCo India spokesperson said.
While PepsiCo India said these products were being exported to other countries, company insiders said 'Nimbooz' and 'Aliva' were finding their way to the Middle-East and western markets.
However, these products were not launched in the same brand abroad till date considering the use of specific Indian words as the locals there could have faced difficulty in relating with the products.
The company said there had been queries from other parts of the world both in terms of products and processing it and some of them were currently being adapted to suit the local taste in the overseas markets.
In her recent Indian trip, PepsiCo chief Indra Nooyi had said products like 'Kurkure' was now getting adapted in the West but with a different flavour.
At present, PepsiCo sells beverage brands like Pepsi, Mirinda, Slice and snacks brands like Uncle Chips, Lays and Cheetos in India.
