Godrej Tyson introduces Real Good Chicken's 400g pack, priced at Rs 48

Abhitash Singh, Mumbai
In order to combat the rising inflation and provide affordable and safe quality chicken and proteins to consumers, Godrej Tyson Foods Ltd (GTFL) announced the launch of Real Good Chicken's 400g pack, priced at Rs 48, in Mumbai on Tuesday.

In order to provide better quality to the consumers, GTFL evaluates every step in the farm-to-fork chain and uses the best management practices to provide hygienic and safe chicken. They follow five qualities – superior chicken breed, healthier nutritious feed, safer, five-week tender and delivered fresh.

Dr J S Pai, executive director, Protein Foods and Nutrition Development Association of India (PFNDAI), and Arabind Das, chief executive officer, Godrej Tyson Food Ltd (GTFL), were present at the launch.

Pai said, “In order to get protein, you must eat chicken. Chicken is one of the best source of protein. Chicken contains all essential amino acids in good proportion, thus making it a rich, complete and wholesale source of protein, whereas vegetables are unable to provide the three main amino acids which is a source of proteins.”

“Real Good Chicken, being white meat, is also easy to digest and safe for everyday consumption in moderate amounts. Protein deficiency has been a cause of concern in our country, and the availibility of safe and hygienic chicken is a challenge,” he said.

“I thank GTFL, who have come up with Real Good Chicken, which is a very good concept. It makes hygienic, safe and high-quality chicken available and affordable to the average Indian, thus alleviating the overall nutritive challenge which the country is facing today,” PFNDAI's chief added.

Das said, “The introduction of a 400g pack of chicken, priced at Rs 48, is yet another idea to brighten the lives of our consumers and is our contribution towards improving protein sufficiency of the nation.”

“While inflation has led homemakers to alter their kitchen budgets and forced many families to cut down their consumption, the range of products under the brand will not just provide consumers affordable and safe chicken, but also enable them to make protein an integral part of the diet,” he added.

“The affordable price of the product would enable millions of households, who hitherto considered it a luxury,to include chicken in their everyday meal,” Das added.
