Trent Ltd, the retail arm of the Tata Group, has launched its second hypermarket 'Star Bazaar' at Andheri west on 4th July. This is their second hypermarket in Mumbai after the one in Dahisar. The company has already established its food retail business in Ahmedabad & Bengalooru. The first hypermarket was opened in Ahmedabad in 2004.
Launching the Andheri store, Noel Tata, Managing Director, Trent Ltd, said, "Star Bazaar is based on the premise of offering best value to customers across a wide array of products. It meets the basic as well as the premium needs of the target audience."
The company believes in providing an ample assortment of products at the lowest prices, exemplifying its 'Chota Budget, Lambi Shopping' motto.
With least promotion and marketing the new hyperstore has managed to capture the attention of the people in Mumbai. Smeeta Neogi, head of marketing, Star Bazaar, said, "We are not new in the business. We have enough experience in the recent years; so we don't feel the need to promote our brand."
The hypermarket is spread over 75, 000 sq.ft. in two floors. The food section consists of vast categories of products ranging from fast moving consumer goods, grocery items, a non-vegetarian section to a live bakery. It has an international food section and a liquor section.
This hypermarket claims to be different from other common food retail outlets. One of the unique segments is live Bakery & Deli section where shoppers will find fresh and hot bakery products like doughnuts, puffs, varieties of bread made in front of the visitors. The store also offers cakes which are available in different designs and flavours. Bengal sweets and namkeens from 'Ghasitaram' are also added to the offering list of the hypermarket.
International recipes form a part of the hypermarket where one can pick up material on new recipes. The food ingredients for the recipes are imported from Thailand, Mexico and Italy. Exceptional range of chocolates, dried fruits, and different types of pasta sausages, spaghetti and much more can be found there. The market has a buffet system specially made for the office- goers where they can enjoy a good lunch at a reasonable price.
Star Bazar is scheduled to start in Navi Mumbai and another 50 stores across the country in the next five years.
