The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Northern India (HRANI) recently hosted the 37th Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) programme at Jodhpur. The objective of the session was to train hospitality aspirants in food safety.
The faculty of the session was Vikas Gupta, professor, Amity University, Noida. He enlightened the participants on various food safety measures and the policy framework in this regard.
“The training is among our efforts to skill the youth and ensure brighter prospects in the hospitality sector. Backed by increasing disposable income, urbanisation and globalisation, hospitality is a sunrise segment of the Indian economy,” said Surendra Kumar Jaiswal, president, HRANI.
“Food safety is a first step to ensuring a healthy population, and thereby, economic productivity. We are glad to receive an overwhelming response to the workshop,” said Deepak Parihar, managing committee member, HRANI.
“The commitment on part of the FSSAI trainers was noteworthy, especially the methodology applied and the resultant training session were lucid and interactive enough for a thorough understanding of the subject of food safety at a very practical level,” said J M Boob from Chandra Imperial. “We have been conducting the FoSTaC programmes for the past three years in different cities of Northern India. The next three training programmes are slated to take place at Radisson Blu Faridabad on March 26, 2020; The Oberoi Cecil, Shimla on March 28, 2020, and The Oberoi, New Delhi on April 18, 2020, respectively. We aim at ensuring the maximum hospitality professionals from our member units are benefited from this training,” said Renu Thapliyal, secretary general, HRANI.
HRANI is the lead training partner for the organised sector in the northern region empanelled by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). HRANI has been conducting the FoSTaC programmes in all 10 states on rotation basis to facilitate the members of association.
