Pune based Nexgen, a leading manufacturer, supplier and exporter of Air Knife Drying Systems and High RPM Centrifugal Blowers recently made its presence felt in engineering by showcasing its products at Drinktec 2005 held in Munich.
Nexgen does the total design, engineering and manufacturing of high pressure blowers and air knife systems. The company serves all the industry segments with a detailed study of the application in providing total solution. Avers Shivanand Shelge, director, Nexgen not only evaluates the application and suggest a solution to the customer but also till the required end results are achieved gives On-site demonstrations so that the customer can understand the system well.
Nexgen also stock all the basic equipment like blowers and air knives along with the accessories like piping, distributors, nozzles, sleeves, says Shelge, and the delivery for the system can be as minimum as one week.
Nexgen is well equipped with assembly and testing facilities. All the parts are checked and tested for quality parameters. Nexgen is also well equipped with well-trained application and support engineers. Nexgen gives the warranty and performance guarantee for the equipment supplied for the particular application, says Shelge.
The Air Knife Drying system is a high velocity air for stripping away moisture, surface liquid, dust and debris from virtually any surface.
The maximum velocity of air is 38000 FPM and maximum pressure of air is 100" WG. The air knife drying system has applications in various industries including the beverage industry. The system offers water blow-off/moisture removal on can, bottles and jars, aerosol cans prior to labelling, ink jet coding. dry packages after shrink wrapping, prior to labelling.
These systems offer tremendous savings in energy costs up to 90% possible when compared to compressed air costs. The use of compressed air for blow-off nozzles is the most inefficient process. Up to 90% Pressure loss occurs when compressed air is supplied to blow off nozzles, which means that there is a huge energy loss.
A high volume production line using 40 Hp worth of compressed air for water blow-off can be replaced by a 10 Hp drying system with better drying quality. This 30 Hp of energy savings is exclusive of the cost to run the refrigerated air dryers, oil separators and maintenance of the entire compressed air system.
Other attributes include clean, oil free and dry air, a constant pressure system, the use of natural heat of compression, safety, rapid start up, rapid drying, flexibility, less cost of maintenance, and compact design. It is simple to install, has easy adaptability and effective drying of complex shapes.
High pressure centrifugal blowers are used for debris/dust/liquid blow off, pressurised air-cooling and parts drying, vapor recovery, engine testing, handling of air and gas, fume exhausting, air bearings and vacuum applications.
