Cookme, MDH, Everest - leading brands in spices business

Almost 150 years ago a man in Bengal started a small spices manufacturing company in Kolkata. Krishna Chandra Dutta, with his innovative thoughts and imaginations, accomplished the task of making best quality whole spices available to the still veiled women of the society that left its mark in the Indian spices market. Years after, Judhisthir Dutta, the grandson of Krishna Chandra started a manufacturing unit of ground spices under which is the now famous 'Cookme'.

Like Cookme, MDH, began in the year 1919, has witnessed seven and a half decades in the country's spices market. MDH has not only pioneered the marketing of powdered spices in handy attractive consumer packs, but has also established as the leader by its own right and trustworthy processor of pure and high quality mixed blended spices and condiments.

For over 40 years, Everest has delved deep into the exotic world of spices, unlocking and revealing the authentic blends that make popular Indian dishes so distinctive in taste, flavour and aroma.

Cookme: Cookme uses state-of-the-art machinery and employs specialised labour to produce high quality ready mixed spices. Special importance is given to attractive packaging. A recent value addition from the company is Cookme Curry Paste. According to company sources, Cookme turned national in 1993 with the launch of its marketing arm, J D Marketing Pvt. Ltd.

MDH : Keeping in pace with the modern times, MDH has been constantly updating and modernizing its units, by evolving blended spices and condiments powders for preparation of popular and exclusive dishes for specific cuisines, which India is famous for.
