The positive reactions to Food ingredients India 2007 have demonstrated the growing interest in food ingredients in this quickly developing region of the world. In response, UBM India and CMP Information will introduce the next installment of Fi India on October 3-4, 2008 at Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, India.
Food is big business in India
Indian cuisine has always embraced a wide variety of ingredients - and that's even more true today. The typical colours, smells and tastes of Indian food are now being used in health foods, beverages, nutraceuticals, snacks and ready meals. With its trillian-dollar economy, 8% economic growth rate, billion-plus population and increasingly prosperous consumers, India is a market with enormous potential.
Food processing is growing by 20% a year in India. Rapidly developing urbanisation and more hectic lifestyles have led to a sharp increase in the demand for preservatives to sustain a longer shelf life. With more women in the workforce, convenience foods are booming. Healthier food choices are also of great interest in order to combat lifestyle-influenced conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Well educated, informed and articulate, the Indian consumers have changing tastes - including their food consumption.
Building solid relationships in the food ingredients markets
An event like Fi India provides a platform for ingredients specialists to showcase their food ingredients to this growing Indian market. And, at the same time, Food industry professionals from India and the rest of the world will get an opportunity to see the latest innovations in the industry, establish important business contacts and discuss trends with their peers.
Stanley Mathews, Sr Marketing Manager from Synthite Industrial Chemicals Ltd knows the benefits that an event like this brings to companies in the food industry. He exhibited at last years show and had this to say: "Fi India 2007 was an excellent show with good representation from all sectors of the Food Industry. The show was a great success and has met all our expectations. We met customers from all over India and overseas with excellent results and we are looking forward to exhibit at Fi India 2008!"
Introducing two new pavilions along side food ingredients
Natural Ingredients Pavilion (Ni): A superb place to exhibit if your company is involved in the thriving natural ingredients industry
Food ingredient Processing Safety and Services Pavilion (FiPSS): Perfect platform for food ingredients suppliers to meet companies that offer solutions or services to the companies for latest safety requirements and regulations
Fi India 2008 conference
The Fi India 2-day conference will run alongside the Fi India Exhibition and will cover key issues facing food manufacturers and suppliers in South Asia. The conference will include highly respected Indian and International speakers who will share their expertise on worldwide issues affecting the food ingredients industry.
