Food processing based on solar energy topic for Dec 16 workshop in Hyd

fiogf49gjkf0d On December 16, 2014, the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI), in association with Society for Energy, Environment and Development (SEED), would host a day-long workshop on the challenges and prospects of food processing technology based on solar energy at FAPCCI Bhavan, Red Hills, Hyderabad. Former Sikkim governor V Rama Rao would be chief guest.
The line-up of speakers for the technical sessions includes Dr Parakala Prabhakar, advisor (communications) to government of Andhra Pradesh; Dr M V Rao, director general, National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, and P V Suryaprakasa Rao, certified food scientist (CFS), Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Fellow, technical advisor and director, Priya Foods, Hyderabad.
The objective of the workshop is to discuss the action plans in food processing schemes, skill development and its future in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, and how solar energy could be utilised in food processing technology, entrepreneurship development programmes in solar food processing. Attention would be given to the development of nutritive products to combat malnutrition for the poor.
