Jubilant Foodworks to open 80-100 Dunkin' Donuts stores in India in 5 years

Jubilant Foodworks Ltd has plans to launch a string of Dunkin' Donuts stores across the country in the next quarter and is currently developing a robust backend for the purpose. The initial focus of the store rollout will be metros, with a phased target of 80-100 stores in span of 5 years.
While replying to FnB News, Ajay Kaul, CEO, Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd, said, “We will open the first store in Delhi in next quarter.” The company has the master franchisee of the international subsidiary of Dunkin' Donuts to develop and operate Dunkin' Donuts stores in India.
The company also has a dedicated team leading various areas of development and to synergise global quality standards and design menu aligned with tastes and preferences of the Indian consumer. Further, the company has ongoing efforts to develop areas such as store design, vendor and supply chain management, equipment requirement, brand management and human resource planning.
According to Jubilant, there is a scope of opportunities in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) space and to capitalise on the same, it has increased its target of opening new stores to around 85 in FY12-13.
Kaul informed that the company was establishing a new factory in northern India somewhere near Chandigarh. The funds for the same will come from internal accruals as “we have very strong operating cash flows. Hence, no plans for raising any funds,” Kaul said. The company currently has four factories. Out of them, two - Mumbai and Kolkata - are under relocation and expansion.
