Third India International Coffee Festival (IICF) from October 7

Bangalore will play host to the India International Coffee Festival (IICF) scheduled on October 7-9, 2009, at the Lalit Ashok in Bangalore this year.
The IICF is expected to bring together the best and the biggest of the global coffee industry to network, collaborate and interact on a common platform, stated G V Krishna Rau, chairman, Coffee Board of India.
The conference is expected to attract over 500 delegates from across the world. About 40 major exhibitors from different segments like growers, exporters, equipment makers and dealers, processors, manufacturers comprising all major brands will set up their booths at the Coffee Expo.
The festival will provide an excellent opportunity for the entrepreneurs to explore the opportunities and start building business relations. This year, the conference will focus on the issues central to the advancement of the coffee industry and the emerging topics like coping with the challenges of climate change and changing consumer preferences. The discussion will also focus on Coffee Vision 2020, Mechanisation in Coffee, Coffee and Health, Sustainable Coffee Farming, Exciting Opportunities for Stand Alone Café and much more.
A series of workshops have been organised alongside for those interested in venturing into the coffee business as well as for skill improvements of those who are already in the business. A coffee tour is also planned through the heartland of coffee for the international participants to know more about the coffees of India.
Like the previous festivals, IICF 2009 is also billed to witness enthusiastic participation from the entire spectrum of coffee business from growers to vendors. Top names in the coffee business in India including Café Coffee Day, Tata Coffee, Lavazza, Hindustan Unilever and Nestle, also international leading companies like Scolari Engineering, Pinhalense, Probat, CMA, Mahlkonig, Paterlini s.r.l., Active s.r.l. will participate in the festival. The countries which are represented in the festival include Brazil, Germany, Italy, Sweden, USA and England.
The Coffee Board of India is an autonomous body, functioning under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The Board encourages and promotes the consumption of coffee in India and abroad.
Cafe Coffee Day is the lead event sponsor of IICF 2009. Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Company Ltd., the promoters of Coffee Day, is one of the largest producers & exporters of coffee in the country.
