Zomato announced a collaboration with Shell to provide relief infrastructure for its delivery partners during the summer months. Through this initiative, select Shell fuel stations across Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune and Ahmedabad will offer convenience spaces for delivery partners onboarded on Zomato to refresh, recover and escape the heat.

With soaring temperatures across the country, the initiative aims to support the well-being and vehicle upkeep of the delivery partners beyond being just a place to pause. Select Shell fuel stations will offer free access to clean drinking water, supporting hydration and overall well-being. On the vehicle care front, delivery partners can avail a complimentary oil check and inspection service, using Shell Lubricants, keeping their vehicles road-ready through the summer months.

The collaboration reflects a shared recognition of the essential role that delivery partners play in keeping urban India connected and the responsibility that comes with enabling delivery partners.

Beyond this collaboration, Zomato is committed to delivery partner’s welfare through the summer. Delivery partners are covered under a comprehensive insurance programme including OPD reimbursement of up to Rs 5,000, hospitalisation coverage of up to Rs 1 lakh, and a Rs 10 lakh accidental death cover, with all premiums borne by the company. Teleconsultations are also available for delivery partners and their immediate families. In a medical emergency, 24x7 SOS support and ambulance services are accessible directly through the Zomato Delivery Partner app.

Additionally, subsidised cooling gear, including a UPF 50+ sunscreen jacket, is available via the Delivery Partner app. Zomato also monitors seasonal weather patterns and sends partners timely updates through in-app communication. During extreme heat, customers are nudged to offer water or a tip to their delivery partner, recognising that a small gesture can make a meaningful difference.
