With 98% loan approval under PMFME, UP Govt approves 13 new projects

The Uttar Pradesh Government has approved 13 new projects under the UP Food Processing Policy. According to reports, the decision was taken during a meeting of the State-level Empowered Committee chaired by the Agricultural Production Commissioner recently in Lucknow.
The proposal for 13 projects was passed after detailed discussions with the higher officials of the UP Government.
As per officials, significant interest from investors in the State food processing sector is shown, as the State has achieved 98% loan approval rate under PMFME.
The UP Government, keen on giving a major push to the food processing sector, has introduced the new food processing policy in 2023 having impetus for the sector.
Earlier, Keshav Prasad Maurya, Deputy CM, UP, had directed the Horticulture and Food Processing Department to ensure timely implementation of the projects approved by the Government.
The DCM emphasised that the department must ensure maximum capital expenditure in the food processing sector across the State for achieving value addition to the farm produce and best remunerative price to farmers.
