This year, Fi Europe takes place in the heart of Paris – the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, in person from December 6 to 8, and online from November 28 to December 23, 2022.
Fi Europe is the place to discover food and beverage ingredients, alternatives and innovative solutions, build new partnerships with suppliers and buyers, network with experts and leaders, generate new leads, access several hours of content focused on hot trends, and be a part of a community driving change and innovation to build a sustainable food future.
Visitors Fi Europe has been uniting the world’s leading food and beverage suppliers, buyers, R&D experts and production specialists for over 35 years. Since its launch in 1986, billions of Euros worth of business has been generated as a direct result of the connections made at Fi Europe events. It is the market leader in helping food and beverage ingredient companies find the right people and solutions to take their business to the next level.
Each year, it showcases a diverse range of innovative, new ingredients and services and over its lifespan, has welcomed more than 500,000 people through its doors. Now, operating as a hybrid event with both an online and in-person component, it is able to offer even greater flexibility and a wider reach for the thousands of exhibitors and visitors who take part each year.
Exhibitors Connecting suppliers of food ingredients with a relevant global buyer audience is at the core of Fi Europe. With many exhibitors getting incredible value out of the new hybrid format in 2021, Fi Europe 2022 will be both online and in-person again. This will offer exhibitors more opportunities to connect and do business with attendees from all over the world plus more convenience and flexibility to achieve objectives.
There are going to be 1,000+ exhibitors, 20,000 attendees (online and in-person) with 135+ countries represented at the show. The event is co-located with Hi Europe.

There will also be one additional tour that features French exhibitors titled: Made in France. All tours will be available for watching online, and on site, at the Innovation Tour Hub.

Food ingredients Zone The main show floor area open to exhibitors from across the full spectrum of the food ingredients industry ranging from Additives, Bakery, Dairy, Proteins, Starches, Synthetic ingredients, Flavouring & Texture, Functional Foods, Consulting services and much more.
Health ingredients Zone The Health ingredients hall is dedicated to the ingredients that add a specific value and / or fortification to finished food and beverage products. These are ingredients with proven health benefits in terms of contribution to digestive, cognitive, or physical health, or immunity.
Organic Zone The Organic zone enables certified organic suppliers with a clear and distinguished proposition to showcase their certified ingredients to the F&B industry. This is the fastest growing area within Fi & Hi Europe, increasing in capacity by 20% in 2020. This zone is open to specialist suppliers of organically certified food ingredients & food.
Natural ingredients Zone Natural is a major growth driver in the F&B industry, with end consumers looking for ingredients that they recognise as naturally-occurring and free from chemicals - closely linked to the drive for ‘clean labels’ in finished products. The Natural ingredients zones are spread across 2 main halls at the exhibition dedicated to the plant, animal, mineral or microbial ingredients present in or produced by nature and directly extracted using simple methods.
New Exhibitor Zone Open to all first time exhibitors at Fi & Hi Europe, this is a specially promoted area on the show floor with competitively priced booths. Visitors are always attracted to this area as it's the go-to place to find the hottest new start-ups and new products in the food ingredients industry.
Expo FoodTec Zone Expo FoodTec is a large dedicated area showcasing a wide array of food processing technologies, R&D services, consultancy services, analytical & laboratory equipment, food safety & hygiene, software, certification services, logistics & transportation, ingredients packaging and packaging machinery.
Country Pavilion Pavilions dedicated to companies from specific countries or regions, aimed at promoting products from these regions to visitors from all around the world. The pavilions are hosted jointly with leading industry associations.
Ingredients Focused Specialised pavilions dedicated to specific ingredients - Omega 3 and Probiotics. The Omega 3 Pavilion is organised by GOED-Omega 3, an international association representing 200 companies. The Probiotics Pavilion is organised by the International Probiotics Association.

Fi Europe Innovation Awards The Fi Europe Innovation Awards honours professionals and companies for their ability to demonstrate and stimulate innovation, and for their contribution to the industry.
The Fi Europe Innovation Awards celebrate people, companies and organisations breaking new ground in the food and beverage industry. With the support of leading food and beverage associations and media partners, the Fi Innovation Awards have become the most prestigious awards in the industry. Achievements in various categories will be assessed by an esteemed jury of industry professionals, chaired by Professor Colin Dennis.
Fi Europe Innovation Award Categories: Sustainability Innovation Award This awards an organisation or company for a measurable supply system that demonstrates environmental, economic and/or socially sustainable practices in the food and beverage industry.
Diversity & Inclusion Innovation Award This awards an organisation or company for creating a work environment that offers equal opportunities for all employees, irrespective of their gender, race, religious background, sexual orientation, and physical or mental ability.
Plant-based Innovation Award This award recognises an organisation or company that has developed the best plant-based ingredient, or application based on plant-based ingredient, in terms of sensory and physical properties or application costs.
Sensory Innovation Award This awards an organisation or company that has developed the best ingredient or process in terms of enhancing the sensory experience of food products, such as taste, texture, smell and/or appearance, without significantly increasing application costs.
Health Innovation Award This awards an organisation or company for the development of the best ingredient or application in terms of proven contribution to digestive, cognitive, immune or physical health.
Food Tech Innovation Award This awards an organisation or company that has developed an innovative technical/processing/manufacturing/packaging/waste reduction solution or service for food ingredients or finished products.
Food Training & Education This awards an organisation, association or company which has a demonstrable record, over at least 2 years, of providing pioneering or innovative training and education initiatives in food and nutrition, which are likely to impact the health and well-being of consumers.
Startup Innovation Challenge The Fi Global Startup Innovation Challenge gives startups the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a jury of R&D experts, investors, and major food and beverage industry company representatives.

Fi Europe continues to discuss equality, diversity, and inclusion in the food and beverage industry.
This year’s Women’s Networking Breakfast puts sustainability and at the forefront, exploring the ways in which women are transforming the global food system for the sake of safeguarding the future of our planet and our people. The world is constantly changing, and the global food system is facing new challenges every day, navigating the long-lasting impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, to supply chain issues fuelled by the Ukraine war, to the looming climate crisis. These challenges require new and innovative solutions, demanding food system stakeholders to look beyond profit and incite purpose driven action. From farm to fork, women are leading the way, by taking actionable steps towards improving the efficiency, sustainability, and resilience of the global food value chain.
Showcasing the female food professionals who are making waves in the global food system and futureproofing our planet, the Women’s Networking Breakfast will consist of two panel discussions featuring a selection of the industry’s leading voices as well as a series of dedicated networking activities. The first session will focus on building a sustainable food system, highlighting the women who are trailblazing the future of food. While the second will advise on how to build a sustainable food business, arming food professionals with practical advice about how to build and run successful diversity and inclusion strategies.
Attendees can expect to hear from and connect with a selection of the industry’s brightest minds and key stakeholders striving to build a more sustainable food system. The event is open to male and female professionals and will take place in-person on the morning of December 7, 2022, on day 2 of Fi Europe 2022.
