Vaidya appointed as director of loss prevention at Renaissance Mumbai

Renaissance Mumbai has appointed Nilesh Vaidya as director of loss prevention at Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel and Lakeside Chalet, Mumbai - Marriott Executive Apartments.

A dedicated professional, he brings to the job almost two decades of proficiency in the service industry.

With a comprehensive background in managing security and loss prevention operations, Vaidya is also adept at developing and maintaining long-lasting partnerships and alliances. His core expertise lies in intelligence gathering, emergency response and investigation.

In his previous roles, he has been associated with a variety of industries and verticals in the service industry.

Vaidya commenced his career as an assistant traffic supervisor in Cambata Aviation Pvt Ltd in 1996. He followed it up with the position of chief security officer at Carnival Cruise Lines, USA.

His first tryst with the hotel industry was at Radisson Blu Spa and Resorts, Alibaug in 2010.

After gaining experience in Hotel Sahara Star, Mumbai, Novotel, Mumbai, and most recently, Four Seasons Hotel, Mumbai, as a director of security, Vaidya joined Renaissance Mumbai as the director of loss prevention.

In his new role, he is responsible for the protection of the property assets and looking after the fellow associates and guests, as well as accident-and-fire-prevention and control check, among other things.

Vaidya holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Mumbai University, and is certified in a variety of skills, including crisis management, human behaviour, leadership skills, effective communication, crowd management and many more.

In his leisure time, he dabbles in both indoor and outdoor activities, and specially enjoys his workout sessions at the gym. His all-time favourite holiday destination in India is Kashmir.

A keen strategist, he has immaculate interpersonal and organisational skills, a strong analytical mind and in-depth knowledge of human behaviour, which makes him an ideal choice for the role.
