FnbNews The Park Mumbai has appointed Rahul Makhija as the new director of operations. With him on board, the luxury hotel aims to elevate the overall guest experience by setting new standards in services and offer both resident and non-resident guests the most luxurious and unparalleled experience. Makhija began his career in hospitality at The Oberoi Rajvilas back in August 2003.

Over time, he subsequently moved into various managerial and senior managerial positions. From restaurant manager at the exquisite Hilton Labriz Silhouette to director of operations at Ananda in the Himalayas and then associate vice-president at CoWrks India Pvt Ltd.

Makhija has led teams providing thoughtful, personalised service to every hotel’s high-profile guests from around the world.

At The Park Hotels, his next step as director of operations includes managing the
complete pre-opening planning operations of the hotel where under his leadership, the team strives to exceed the needs and expectations of the brand's target customer and property associates.

When it comes to leadership, Makhija believes strongly in pushing boundaries and setting new bars not by doing things differently, but by doing different things. Similarly, rather than think outside the box, he prefers to approach conundrums as if there is no box at all.

Meanwhile, wherever the posting, he strives to immerse himself in the culture, to connect with his team better, get them excited about the company’s standards, and inspire them to deliver the service guests expect.

A man who enjoys travelling and reading, he also likes to experience local culture wherever he travels. Aside from his work assignments, Makhija is no stranger to the open road in his own travels.
