Mumbai’s gourmands are soon going to be spoilt for choice. The latest entrant in the city’s home delivery scene making a splash amongst the connoisseurs of taste is The Blue Tiffin – a carefully crafted cloud kitchen that draws inspiration and celebrates the rich royal legacy of India.

It is a start-up by parent company 4 Cheese Foods LLP. The venture has recently been founded by partners Manabendra Nath Kumar, Rahul Khandelwal and chef Amit Puri. Manabendra Nath Kumar is a foodie at heart with vast experience in the field of design development. He currently looks after the brand building, strategy and marketing. Rahul Khandelwal has over a decade’s experience in business development, product innovation and marketing. Though not from a traditional culinary background, his passion for food led him to team up with his partners to start 4 Cheese Foods.

Chef Amit Puri is a veteran with over two decades of kitchen experience. Having started out at The Taj Hotels in Colaba, he has since left his mark on several Indian and international organisations like The Orchid, Meluha, Rodas, Pan India Food Solutions, Spaghetti Kitchen, Bombay Blue, Noodle Bar, Copper Chimney, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Harry’s Bar (Singapore), amongst many more. His expertise has made him one of the sought after culinary consultants – both in the country and on foreign shores. Just last year, chef Puri added another feather in his cap by turning author with his debut cookbook, ‘Redefining Comfort Food with Amit Puri’.

Chef Puri has now channelled his passion for Indian cuisine by co-founding the restaurant, which promises to provide its patrons with the warmth of Indian heritage through their sumptuous comfort food. The kitchen is in Marol, Andheri, and services customers residing anywhere between Colaba and Thane. Being mindful of constantly reducing their carbon footprint, The restaurant believes in minimal use of plastic, which is why all your meals will come in packaging that is completely biodegradable.

The menu has been meticulously curated by Chef Puri to include the most mouth-watering recipes from royal kitchens across India. All the dishes pay homage to the majestic gastronomic delicacies from the kitchens of Thanjavur Marathas (Tamil Nadu), Chola Dynasty (Chettinad), Awadhs (Lucknow), Rajputs (Rajasthan), Hyderabadi Nizaams (Deccan), Nizams and Sailana family (Madhya Pradesh), and Katoch family (Kangra, Himachal Pradesh).

A look at their incredibly vast menu is sure to whet your appetite. The restaurant offers up a dizzying array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options in Kebabs and Starters, Platters, Curries, Dals, Biryanis, Breads and Rolls. Vegetarians can opt amongst delicacies like Chaunki Hui Mattar Ke Kebab, Awadhi Kumbh Ki Galouti and Mewar Paneer Methi Ke Sule to begin with; move on to Kangra Boondi Ka Khatta, Indori Makai Ka Kees and Govind Gatta Curry; dip their Laccha Parathas, Tandoori or Roomali Rotis in a creamy Dhungaar Dal Makhani; or feast on a Subz Malai Biryani. Mumbai’s meat lovers get to start off with some truly mouth-watering Sirka Mirch Ka Murgh Tikka, Tanjavur Komdiche Kebab and Fried Tava Ribs from the appetisers; pick amongst entreés like Hyderabadi Dum Ka Murgh, Nizami Mutton Dalcha, Raampuri Taar Ghosht and Telangana Gongura Chicken; or choose a rice fail-safe – you couldn’t go wrong with either the Nizami Dum Pukht Murgh Biryani or Wazwan Yakhni Mutton Pulao.

In a hurry and need a quick meal on the go? The restaurant doesn’t disappoint with their Mushroom Ki Galouti, Dum Ka Paneer, Bhuna Chicken or Mutton Galouti Kebab Rolls, and most dishes on the menu are also available as convenient meal-for-one options.

Available to order on Zomato, Swiggy and Thrive.
