Global ingredients leader Tate & Lyle has announced the expansion of its regenerative agriculture initiative into Europe, partnering with French corn farming cooperatives to promote sustainable and climate-resilient farming practices.
In collaboration with three major cooperatives—Armbruster Grande Cultures, Euralis Groupe, and Groupe Maïsadour—Tate & Lyle has designed a programme to help farmers improve soil health and build long-term resilience against climate change. Key agronomic practices include low- and no-till farming, cover cropping, and optimized nitrogen management to reduce reliance on synthetic fertilisers.
To scientifically assess and quantify the environmental impact of these practices, Tate & Lyle is using Regrow Ag’s AI-driven platform. This technology enables real-time data collection and analysis, helping both farmers and the company measure improvements in soil health, greenhouse-gas emissions, and other regenerative outcomes. Local agronomists and Regrow experts will assist growers with data entry, interpreting insights, and integrating results into broader environmental reporting systems.
This new initiative builds on Tate & Lyle’s existing regenerative programmes in the U.S. and China, where it already works with corn and stevia growers to scale up climate-smart practices. Nick Hampton, CEO of Tate & Lyle, said the programme supports farmers while strengthening the resilience of its supply chain, calling it a “win-win” for business and the planet.
Anastasia Volkova, CEO and Co-Founder of Regrow Ag, highlighted that the collaboration combines local agronomic insight with credible, AI-powered measurement, offering a scalable model for climate action in European agriculture.
Franck Camet-Lassalle of Euralis and Christophe Bonno of Maïsadour emphasised that the initiative aligns with their cooperatives’ sustainability goals, helping their farmer-members improve both environmental outcomes and economic performance.
By extending its regenerative footprint into France, Tate & Lyle is reinforcing its commitment to science-driven sustainability, and building a more resilient, climate-adaptive supply chain for its speciality ingredient business.
