SOP for modification of old methodology licences or migration of licence for nutra

The Food Authority has issued an SOP for mandatory modification of old methodology licences granted under FLRS portal or migration of state licence for manufacturing of nutraceuticals and related products.
According to the SOP, only those FBOs who have modified their licence within the validity period of licence, will be allowed to file an application for renewal of their licence on FoSCoS (Food Safety Compliance System).
The SOP will be applicable from April 1, 2022.
The FSSAI has issued an order in this regard saying, “As the last date for the mandatory modification/migration of the old methodology licences will be over on 31.03.22, such food businesses will not be allowed to file renewal of FLRS (Food Licensing and Registration System) with effect from 1.04.2022. if an FBO wants to renew their existing licence from 1.04.22, he/she has to follow Standard Operating Procedure –SOP.”
FSSAI’s SOP says that only if the validity of licence is remaining, FBOs can get their old methodology licence granted from FLRS portal, modified to standardised product selection methodology of FoSCoS or can migrate state licence for manufacturing of nutraceuticals and other related products to Central licences by way of modification within validity period of licence.
Upon launch of FoSCoS portal, FSSAI had in May 2020 asked the food businesses involved in manufacturing to modify their licence from the erstwhile FLRS regime, which was mandatory and was offered without fee for initial period until October 2021. Later Rs 1000 was charged for modification until March 31, 2022.
Similar order was issued for modification for state licensed nutraceuticals and other related products.
