Our Bureau, New Delhi
Gurgaon witnessed the launch of Big Bros, a chain of Internet restaurants backed by celebrity chef Harpal Singh Sokhi. It has launched three innovative cloud kitchen brands, viz., MeatMe, BhookHara and Chaatoreez , each offering a unique experience to food lovers!

The chain has been launched by the founding team with the mantra, Taste over opulence, which makes it the first such chain of cloud kitchens in the industry. While most online restaurants or cloud kitchens focus only on quick delivery, huge discounts and serving a larger customer base, Big Bros aims to go an extra mile and deliver an experience with amazing taste at the customer’s doorstep.

Meat Me: This is a specialty mutton restaurant

BhookHara:  Being Vegan is healthy! While menu makers and food experts are bending backwards to come up with innovative, stylish and tasteful dishes for the meat-eaters, this brand wants to impress pure vegetarians with a unique menu.

Chaatoreez: This brand serves street food at its best! The origin of the word Chaat probably comes in connection to the taste and sensation of chatpata, which can be best described as salty, sweet and tangy. If you are really looking for that authentic taste of chaat from streets of Uttar Pradesh, you will surely want to keep Chaatoreez saved in your phone.

The experience being delivered by each of these restaurants is unparalleled, and the relishing menu will soon be added with some of Sokhi’s signature dishes as well.

Rajat Sahni, Sanjay Kohli and Deepak Dandona founded the brand to share the goodness of family recipes that had been kept secret for generations.

Sahni’s vision is to create a cloud kitchen platform that helps young entrepreneurs, budding chefs and famous, but confined food joints launch their online restaurants. While he brings years of research, strategy and execution experience, Kohli and Dandona bring over 25 years of experience in the food business.

An Delhi University alumnus, Sahni is a serial entrepreneur who has dons many hats. With a rich and diverse experience across marketing and product research, he has a significant experience in the food industry as well. He comes up with a concept to bring the best food talent across India on a single platform. He comes with expertise in research, consumer insights, launching and managing operations till the last mile for different businesses, and serves as chief operating officer, Big Bros.

He said, “Till date, Indians haven’t had a food experience at their doorstep that can rightfully compete with a visit to the restaurant. Through Big Bros, we are changing this trend by curating and delivering authentic food experiences to the customer, wherever they may be. We are launching the service with three brands and will be and expanding our portfolio as we grow.”

Sahni is a globetrotter and loves exploring food from different corners while he is at it. He has always been fascinated by the fact that how local recipes and food joints are famous in nearby areas, but are largely unknown outside their vicinity. Cloud kitchen, as a concept, is best suited to give them a platform to cater to a much larger segment of food lovers.

Sokhi, the brand ambassador of Big Bros, is known as Energy Chef of India, and, of late, as Dancing Chef of India, as he was one of the participants in the ninth season of Jhalak Dhiklaja, aired on Colors TV.

He is famously known for his phrase Namak Shamak, and has not only redefined cookery shows with his own unique style of humour and cooking in a real Punjabi desi style, but is also a global influencer, which is why he was adjudged as an influencer chef at the Global Influencer Summit twice (in 2018 and 2019). A recognised and admired face on telelvision, he bagged the Chef of the Year awards at the Golden Star Awards in 2012.

“Food has been my passion, and Big Bros now allows me to take the taste of my food to every home in the country. I am excited at the prospect of creating a mesmerising food experience at the customer’s doorstep. My food has always had a tadka and similarly, Big Bros is the tadka that the food industry needed,” Sokhi said.

The entertaining chef is a sought-after name within the Indian food industry. With a background in North India, and his reputation of crafting a fusion of Indian food with international cuisine, he has added his desi tadka in the fun abd young bbrand Dhadoom, Twist of Tadka, Broaster Chicken, The Treasury, BB Jaan. He is ready for BB Chick, a brand that is coming up soon.

Sokhi was also approached by the World Residence Sea, a cruise ship, to sample the array of Bollywood-esque gourmet dishes from all the regions of India for the 160 guests across the world residing on it.

The menu displayed at the launch event included the best recipes from all the three brands. It was as follows:

Meat Me: Hyderabadi Nizami Nihari and Sahni Uncle's Mutton Curry

Bhookhara: Dal Bhookhara, Kadai Paneer and Amritsari Aloo Vadi

Chaatoreez: Palak Chole Chawal Kullad, Sponge Bhalla Chaat, Rasmalai and Gulab Jamun

The restaurant has carefully selected the first three brands after years of experience, and knowing the likes and dislikes of our modern, yet desi on taste audience. All the three brands are unique as far as stories and experiences are concerned, and therefore, it intends to deliver cuisines that ensure that there is something for all, with everyday meals in Bhookhara, evening snacks and weekend cheats at Chaatoreez and mutton cravings satisfied by Meat Me.
