The 24th edition of the India International Seafood Show, Asia’s premier seafood trade fair will be held from September 25 to 28, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. This year’s edition will be part of World Food India 2025, Government of India’s flagship global food innovation event that celebrates India’s culinary heritage and fosters partnerships across the food value chain.
Organised by the Seafood Exporters Association of India (SEAI), IISS-2025 will feature more than 260 stalls, technical sessions, and roundtables, bringing together participants from over 15 countries, including major markets such as United States, European Union, Vietnam, UAE, Germany, Belgium, Japan, China and more. A reverse buyer-seller meet hosted by the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) will further strengthen trade linkages by connecting Indian exporters directly with international buyers.
India has emerged as a global leader in seafood exports, currently supplying to 132 countries. India shipped 16,98,170 tonnes of seafood worth Rs 62,408.45 crore ($7.45 billion) during 2024-25 as against exports of 17,81,602 tonne in 2023-24, worth Rs 60,523.89 crore ($7.38 billion), reflecting the sector’s strong resilience despite global trade fluctuations. With a long-term target of USD 15 billion by 2030, India is aiming at a projected growth rate of more than 100% over the next six years. The fisheries sector also supports the livelihood of more than 30 million fishers and fish farmers, highlighting its crucial role in the nation’s economy.
This edition of IISS is particularly significant as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of SEAI. Pawan Kumar, president, SEAI, said, “IISS showcases the tremendous growth of India’s seafood export sector. As we mark our golden jubilee, this event will help us strengthen our global position and expand into new markets.”
Dr K N Raghavan, SEAI secretary-general, said, “Our motto, ‘Sustainably Harvested, Humanely Sourced,’ reflects our deep commitment to ethical sourcing and responsible aquaculture practices. IISS-2025 will be a platform to address challenges such as skill development, sustainability, and innovation.”
Several leading domestic and global players are participating, including Avanti Feeds Ltd., Devi Seafoods Ltd., Nekkanti Seafoods Ltd., Asvini Fisheries, Sagar Grandhi Exports, Sandhya Marines, Silver Seafoods, Gadre Marine Exports, Apex Frozen Foods, Wellcome Fisheries, Deepmala Foods, and MSC Agency India.
Alongside these, overseas companies from across continents will also showcase their technologies and solutions, such as Thermofin GmbH (Germany), TU Phuong Manufacturing Trading Company Ltd. (Vietnam), TST Co. Ltd. (Vietnam), WXR-Wanxiang Refrigeration (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. (China), Ment Automation Co. Ltd. (Vietnam), Namdung Joint Stock Company (Vietnam), Anh Phat Co. Ltd. (Vietnam), Phan Bach Technology (Vietnam), Laitram Machinery Inc. (United States), Glory Co. Ltd. (Vietnam), Seven-Seas Frozen Fish & Seafood Trading Co. LLC (United Arab Emirates), and Prayon SA (Belgium).
India’s seafood sector, particularly shrimp, continues to dominate global supply, accounting for nearly 40% of worldwide production. While challenges such as higher tariffs in the US and rising production costs persist, the industry is responding with diversification and value-added products.
As one of Asia’s largest seafood exhibitions and now a featured segment of World Food India 2025, IISS-2025 will not only showcase India’s leadership in seafood exports but also set the agenda for the global seafood industry’s future.
Dr Raghavan said, “IISS-2025 is more than just a trade show; it is a forum to shape the future of seafood production, ensuring India remains at the forefront of this vital sector.”
