Known across Mumbai for its award-winning Chinese, Indian, Thai and Japanese kitchens, San:Qi at Four Seasons Mumbai pays homage to the rich culinary heritage of the Southern states through a thoughtfully curated menu for the auspicious harvest festival of Pongal.

From January 9 to 15, 2023, San:Qi will undergo a makeover as Chefs Kathiravan and Chef Prasad, from Thiruvananthapuram and Madurai respectively, take centre stage. This diverse menu showcases snippets of the robust flavour profiles from the peninsula, including delicacies such as Mutton Ghee Roast, Kadlai Curry, Chemeen Curry and the celebratory Sakarai Pongal, a sweet preparation of rice with jaggery and dry fruits, symbolising prosperity and gratitude.

The balanced cuisine of these neighbouring states has been well-appreciated the world over and Chef Kathiravan’s recent cross-exposure trip to Four Seasons Baku, Azerbaijan, to cater to a private event further endorses his expertise with complex techniques and wholesome flavours.

The opportune moment to celebrate this cuisine at San:Qi arose with the advent of Pongal – a harvest festival that both chefs reminisce about fondly. Closely associated various aspects of with rural life such livestock rearing and farming, this festival is heralded as a “new year,” making it one of the most important occasions to celebrate.

This limited-edition menu will be available at San:Qi from January 9 to 15, 2023, culminating in a lavish Sunday Brunch on January 25, 2023 featuring live stations best showcasing the magic that Chef Kathiravan and Chef Prasad create, seemingly effortlessly.
