QSR chain Jumboking’s Make in India story betting big on vegetarianism

In a country with an involved vegetarian population, Jumboking, a quick service restaurant (QSR) chain incepted in 2001, has taken up the mantle of serving its customers, burgers with the green dot.

It now serves standardised flavours of the Indian burger, across 115 stores, in high-footfall locations in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Pune. The brand also has delivery tie-ups with Swiggy, Zomato and Uber Eats to service out -of-store orders.

The brand’s USP is that it offers India’s mobile, on-the-go, urban population, vegetarian flavours of the Indian burger, such as nachos, schezwan and tandoori paneer, at convenient locations along their commute.

The following are some details on their JK of the Day, which are otherwise priced at Rs 50:

The Corn Palak Jumboking (Rs 45 on Monday): A favourite among school kids, this burger has a mayo sauce over a lettuce bed with a crisp corn-spinach patty. Every bite is sinful.

The Cheese Jumboking (Rs 45 on Tuesday): It is the ultimate Indian cheese burger. Smooth cheese blends in with the crunchy potato in every bite of Jumboking’s cheese burger.

The Schezwan Jumboking (Rs 45 on Wednesday): All is spice and nice, as women flock to try the perfect Chinese fix. It is loaded with fresh cabbage chops, dry noodles, Schezwan sauce and a spicy veg patty.

The Nachos Jumboking (Rs 45 on Thursday): A bunch of nachos, a hint of tandoori-cheese blend sauce, fresh vegetable and a crunchy spicy square veg patty - easily the most affordable and delectable Tex-Mex offering in Mumbai.
 
The Crispy Veg Jumboking (Rs 45 on Friday): This is the preferred burger for the health-conscious. It is loaded with crisp fresh veggies such as Cabbage, Tomato, a mayo sauce, and a crisp potato patty. Hence, it is truly an Indian-style burger.
 
The Double-Decker Jumboking (Rs 85 on Saturday): The massive double-decker Jumboking is a mouthful and comes stacked with double crispy patties, jalapeños, shredded lettuce, onions, and blended tandoori-cheese sauce.

The Tandoori Paneer Jumboking (Rs 85 on Sunday): Jumboking’s Tandoori Paneer comprises soft yet crispy marinated Tandoori Paneer and tandoori cheese sauce.
