The seven pillars of the food industry, namely trends, innovations, manufacturing/processing, packaging, transport, safety and service, will collaborate at Food Summit 2017, which has been conceptualised and powered by Equinox Labs and slated to take place at J W Marriott, Mumbai, between 9am and 6pm on August 5.

The objective of the event is to achieve greater awareness of the food market, which will ultimately result in more efficient management of the same.

Eminent personalities from various segments of the food industry, including manufacturing, processing, distribution, audits and testing will attend the event, as will safety officials and chefs.

There will be sessions on topics, such as food safety in manufacturing, processing and ancillary aspects, scientific perceptions on the operations and food management in the airline industry. It will also include panel discussions on the safety and post-processing procedures.

The benefits of Food Summit 2017 are:
  • To understand the FSSAI policies and their relation to the food businesses
  • To know the trends and needs of the food market
  • To hear the chefs' stories from behind the platform
  • To develop close associations with peers
  • To meet people who can help your business grow
  • It will serve as a platform for showcasing brands/products
There are companies who don’t just strive in the areas of safety and entrepreneurship, but also dedicate a major chunk of their efforts towards trends and innovations.

These will be honoured by the Food Summit 2017 team for their innovations and trendy concepts and provided a platform through the Innovative Food Business of the Year award.

There are several criteria that nominated businesses have to fulfill to bag the honour, which will be chosen by the jury members live at the event.
