Parimal Singh has succeeded Abhimanyu Kale as the Maharashtra Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) Commissioner.
In October last year, Maharashtra government had appointed Kale, an IAS officer of 2005 batch as new commissioner of Maharashtra FDA replacing A B Unhale.
Under the leadership of Kale, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Maharashtra, did a lot of crackdowns on adulterated food products like ‘paneer or cottage cheese’.
A team of state FDA officials under Kale had recently done a lot of raids based on a tip off and seized the inventory of uncooked supplies used for manufacture of spurious paneer in Thane and Bhiwandi.
