Moksh Chopra, a 16-year veteran of Yum! Brands, has been appointed to lead Taco Bell’s operations across India, Sri Lanka and Kuwait, taking on responsibility for the brand’s strategy, business growth and operational excellence in the region.
Chopra has played a key role in KFC India’s growth during his tenure with Yum!. Most recently serving as General Manager, he helped strengthen the business fundamentals and shape its long-term growth strategy. Under his leadership, KFC India increased its market share to around 27%, doubled its restaurant footprint and operating profit, delivered strong system sales growth, improved unit economics and enhanced consumer and employee experiences.
Scott Mezvinsky, CEO, KFC Global, said, “Chopra has been a driving force behind KFC India’s recent success and highlighted his leadership approach and operational expertise. He added that the new role at Taco Bell will provide an opportunity for Chopra to apply his experience to accelerate the brand’s growth in the region.”
At Taco Bell, Chopra will work closely with franchise partners and the local team to build on the brand’s momentum and apply learnings from KFC India. Taco Bell is positioned as an important growth engine for Yum! Brands in the region, with ambitions to expand its presence across the markets.
“I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead Taco Bell’s growth in the region. He credited KFC India’s achievements to its people and partners and said he looks forward to bringing those learnings to Taco Bell as the brand enters its next phase of growth,” said Chopra.
