me&u launch game-changing table-service solution
Thursday, 07 September, 2023, 08 : 00 AM [IST]
Sydney
Leading global hospitality innovator and tap, order, pay technology me&u has announced the Australian launch of me&u flex, a game-changing new product set to take pain points out of the hospitality experience for both businesses and consumers, so the good times can continue to flow at the table.

Created to meet the needs of table service venues - casual and premium casual dining, as well as bars and lounges, me&u flex provides a versatile, two-way ordering system where customers can order through me&u and the waiter to a combined table in the POS, enhancing the order flow so venues never miss an order and freeing up staff time so they can focus on doing what they do best - delivering exceptional customer service. What’s more, me&u flex gives customers the visibility to see who on their table is ordering, and when they are ready to send said order, with all meals delivered together.

A key difference to me&u’s current order-at-table offering, is that payment is taken at the end of the experience instead of pay as you go, aligning with the sequence of service at premium and casual dining venues.

Enhancing the dining experience further, me&u flex allows customers to easily split and pay the bill, either evenly or by item. This feature addresses a prevalent concern unveiled by research which proved that one in five (20%) Australians have experienced bill-splitting anxiety. Additionally, over a third (37%) of Australians note they have been left ‘out-of-pocket’ after paying a group bill when dining out with family and friends, and more than one in five (22%) admit they have avoided group dining due to bill-splitting concerns at the end of the meal.

me&u flex is designed to help venues elevate the customer experience, also facilitating faster payments and easy bill-splitting, resulting in quicker table turnovers. Its purpose-built features simplify up-selling, driving increased food and beverage sales. Plus, by gathering valuable customer data, venues can refine their marketing efforts, boost loyalty, and offer personalised experiences.

me&u CEO, Katrina Barry said, “me&u’s primary objective is to help hospitality businesses drive operational efficiency, maximise sales and grow their bottom line. Table service venues are looking for ways to help staff serve more tables, make up-selling easier, strengthen customer loyalty, and deliver a seamless experience; all of which Flex makes possible. The benefits for venues, staff and the customer are symbiotic, with a slick ordering experience that can boost revenue, job satisfaction and increase customer loyalty.”

“In addition, we identified a clear demand for services like me&u flex within our Pubs, Pints & Predictions research, which revealed 57% of Australians prefer venues that give them the option of smart technology to make the ordering experience more efficient. We are committed to building our product and service offering to cater to and address consumer demand, while solving emerging industry pain points. me&u flex is another step towards building a better future for Australia’s hospitality sector, and one we’re proud to launch here in Australia after a successful launch in the UK and US.”
