McDonald’s UK launches Spicy Veggie One, including vegetarian goujons

McDonald’s UK recently launched the Spicy Veggie One, a spicy vegetarian wrap, which includes two Red Pesto veggie goujons and a seasonal salad, dressed with a spicy relish. The goujons are wrapped in a tortilla. The 364-calorie wrap is priced at £2.99.
A third (33 per cent) of McDonald’s customers revealed they think it is important to include more meat-free meals into their diets, and the new wrap offers them a choice to do so.
Lynne Elliot, chief executive, The Vegetarian Society, said, “We are really proud to have worked closely with McDonald’s for over 10 years, and it is great to see their veggie menu developing, especially as McDonald’s tell us that a third of their customers think it is important to eat more veggie meals.”
“There is a growing demand for veggie food everywhere and it’s fantastic to see McDonalds meeting the needs of their customers. With the new Spicy Veggie One carrying our trademark, diners can trust their meal is one hundred per cent vegetarian,” she added.
The Spicy Veggie One will join the current Vegetable Deluxe, which has a new recipe, so whether a customer is veggie, flexy or simply looking for a delicious meat-free lunch, he/she can come and live his/her best lunch at his/her local McDonald’s.
