Marico Limited participated in World Food India 2025, to reinforce its commitment towards innovating its foods portfolio for a healthier India. The event was attended by Saugata Gupta, MD & CEO, Marico Limited and Dr Shilpa Vora, chief R&D officer, Marico Limited, along with senior leaders of the company.
The company was among the select few FMCG companies to feature in the Innovation Pavilion, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The company highlighted its pioneering R&D efforts through a technology showcase, including LoSorb Technology, Hybrid Extrusion Technology and DOC Valorisation.
Each of these innovations has been developed to address evolving consumer needs with science-backed, practical solutions. LoSorb Technology enables 15%-30% lower fat absorption in Saffola Oil, including the cold-pressed variants. This breakthrough results in lighter, less oily foods, allowing consumers to enjoy their favourite indulgences with significantly reduced guilt – an important benefit in a health-conscious market. Hybrid Extrusion Technology offers flexibility and versatility in processing, enabling the use of nutritious grains and pulses to create innovative product formats. One such example is the O-ring shaped noodle in Saffola Oodles, designed to reduce mess while offering a wholesome combination of oats, pearl millet, semolina, and vegetables. This technology also powers products like Saffola Muesli, made with extruded ingredients like natural flavour pops and multigrain flakes and has recently been extended to Saffola Crunchiez. DOC Valorisation represents Marico’s commitment to sustainability and circularity in the food system. Researched in collaboration with NIFTEM, Kundli, this approach focuses on the efficient utilisonation of byproducts, traditionally used in low-value applications like animal feed. By reintegrating these nutrient-rich byproducts into the human food chain, Marico is reducing waste and championing a circular economy model, addressing both environmental impact and the need for responsible innovation.
Highlighting its food innovation prowess, Marico showcased its diverse product portfolio at the event, featuring the Saffola, True Elements, and Plix brands. Key products on display included Saffola Oils, Saffola Oats (including Cuppa Oats), Saffola Crunchiez, Saffola Muesli, Saffola Honey, and Saffola Soya. From the Plix range, products like Apple-Cider Vinegar Effervescent, Glowy Skin Effervescent, Kids Grow Buddy, and Strength Protein Powder were on display. True Elements showcased its Rolled Oats, Muesli, Granola, Seeds, Dry Fruits, and Trail Mix. During the event, True Elements also unveiled its upcoming range of Protein Bars, High Protein Savoury Oats, and Overnight Oats – further expanding its health-focused portfolio.
Driven by its purpose of ‘Make a Difference’, Marico Limited is committed to offering healthier, affordable food products that cater to the evolving nutritional needs of Indian consumers. Guided by nutritional science, consumer demand for wellness-oriented choices, regulatory frameworks, and continuous brand innovation, the Company strives to incorporate healthy ingredients and nutrients with inherent goodness into its product portfolio.
