Sharmila Oswal, a seasoned social agriculturist along with her son Shubham Oswal, a trained professional in water conservation and agricultural industry have recently launched their organic food brand – 1Organic with the aim of providing high quality organic products at the most affordable costs.

The brand is a farm to fork concept, and is breaking the myth of organic foods being expensive. Bringing it to the masses rather than restricting it only to high networth individuals by closely working with more than 2000 plus farmers.

The brand is also closely working with women in making them aware about the benefits of growing organic produce and also help them sell their produce at the best rates. It is already making a big mark in the social entrepreneurship space and has provided employment to numerous women and men in villages spread across India. The brand manages the entire supply chain of the products right from delivery of the seeds to the farmers to buying their produce and taking it to the market. The state-of-the-art certified organic processing and packaging facility helps maintain the integrity, quality and affordable pricing of the organic produce. By cutting middle-men and directly working with farmers enables the brand to sell their produce at 10-15 per cent less of the market rate.

The brand will have the range of products like pulses, millets, spices, hand-pounded brown rice, grains, wood-churned cold pressed oils to name a few.

Sharmila Oswal said, “Pandemic is creating havoc in the life of the people globally. In such situation, healthy eating is the most factor that people should follow and shouldn’t be restricted only to high end societies. Having said, there was a misconception that organic food are always expensive. In order to break the myth and make it affordable to the society we have come up with this brand.”

Shubham Oswal said, “Our non-compromising attitude towards the quality of products is helping the brand to create a disruption in the organic market. In the next two months, we are planning to expand in Mumbai and Delhi and at the later stage we would also like to spread our wings in other metro cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai. We also have tie up with more than 100 stores in Pune, which is our base and plan to tie up with 5000 plus stores across India in a span of 2-3 years.”

More than 95 per cent of India’s population has not realised the importance of organic product. This is because healthy food without harmful chemicals and pesticides did not come cheap and was out of the reach for the majority of Indians. Hence, the mother son duo plan to bring a disruption in the organic market and not only bring affordable food to the masses but also provide employment to many.
