Dirty Buns Sobo, a recently-opened restaurant in Breach Candy, has a host of options for people who prefer Jain cuisine.
Patrons can begin their meal with Dirty Bites, which offers options like Tomato Carpaccio with basil, lemon gremolata, balsamic and burrata crema; Avocado Salad with grilled romaine lettuce, iceberg lettuce, cherry tomato, charred corn and orange fennel; or Chickpea Falafel with roasted cauliflower hummus, olives, stracciatella cheese, pickles, pita bread and lavash.
Those who are feeling indulgent can enjoy a classic Mac and Cheese, with cheddar and parmesan cheese, bread crumbs drizzled with truffle oil.
The next section, titled Get Dirty, contains heartier dishes like Corn Fritters with charred corn relish, parmesan, cilantro, paprika; Hoisin Eggplant with sweet soy, soy aioli, house pickles; Spiced Paneer with chilli coconut sauce, lettuce, pickles; and Kung Pao Tofu with aioli, soy chilli, peanuts.
All dishes can be accompanied by noodles, rice or mixed greens, or filled in a bao or roll. An order of sautéed market vegetables can also be added to each dish.
The eggless dessert options will witness diners getting creative – they can build their own cake, a new and fun offering from executive chef Boo Kim.
Patrons will first choose their base – an eggless sponge in either vanilla, chocolate, or marble cake flavour.
Following this, they can choose a mousse (from either vanilla, chocolate, blueberry or espresso), and up to four garnishes, from options including caramel sauce, macerated blueberries, shortbread or cookie crumbs, and lemon curd.
The restaurant is open between noon and 1am, from Tuesday to Sunday.
