The Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA)–Poultry India celebrated International Women’s Day with a special programme in Hyderabad, recognising the growing role of women in leadership, entrepreneurship, and participation in the poultry sector and allied industries.
The event brought together prominent members of the poultry fraternity to honour women who are contributing to the growth of the industry and strengthening communities through enterprise and leadership.
Among the distinguished guests present were D. Samata Venkata Reddy, Municipal Chairperson of Chevella, Seetha Ranjith Reddy, Director of SR Hatcheries Pvt. Ltd.; and Dr. Kiraannmayye Addu, Chief Clinical Nutritionist and Lifestyle Consultant at BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals. The speakers shared their perspectives on women’s empowerment, leadership, health awareness, and the importance of nutrition in building a healthier society.
During the event, the guests also interacted online with rural women entrepreneurs from the Kesla Poultry Society, learning about their inspiring journey in community-led poultry development and how poultry farming is helping create sustainable livelihoods in rural areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Uday Singh Bayas, President of IPEMA–Poultry India, along with M. Srikanth, Treasurer of IPEMA, highlighted the expanding role of women across the poultry ecosystem—from entrepreneurship and farm management to allied services and community development.
He noted that empowering women in the poultry sector not only strengthens families and rural livelihoods but also plays an important role in nation-building. As an industry contributing significantly to nutrition security and employment, the poultry sector is witnessing increasing participation and leadership from women, he added. As part of the celebrations, IPEMA–Poultry India also launched an outreach initiative to highlight the inspiring journeys of women leaders and family members from the poultry community, documenting their experiences and perspectives on women’s empowerment.
IPEMA, the organiser of the globally recognised Poultry India Expo, continues to promote innovation, industry growth, and inclusive participation. The 18th edition of Poultry India Expo 2026 will be held in Hyderabad, with Knowledge Day on November 24, 2026, followed by the Expo from November 25 to 27, bringing together global poultry industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders.
The event concluded with a strong message encouraging greater participation of women professionals and entrepreneurs in the poultry sector while inspiring the next generation of women leaders in the industry.
