Hundreds of women participate in Telangana Tea Championship

Hundreds of women from different corners of Hyderabad, took the challenge of preparing tea at the Telangana Tea Championship 2022 organised by Hybiz Tv.
More than hundred women registered and participated in this unique tea competition organised by Hybiz Tv, an online business channel at HICC Novotel.
It is a one of its kind competition that is being held for the first time in Hyderabad.
Housewives to working women to women just starting their entrepreneurial journey to women who just love to try new recipes were all present at the championship to showcase their talent.
The competition was an exhibit of different flavours of teas and its recipes. Be pink chai or special masala chai made from kitchen spices or a hot cup of tea with health benefits, the participants prepared a wide variety of tea.
As the competition was held two days prior to the International Women’s Day, the championship was open to women participants only. However, their better halves were seen cheering them up and boosting their confidence.
Cities most favourite and famous tea specialist, Café Niloufer was the associate sponsor of the event. Other esteemed sponsors of the event were Godrej Jersey as the milk partner and Roots Collegium as the hospitality partner.
TV5, The Siasat Daily and Hindi Milap were the media partners. Big FM was the radio partner and ThoughtKnit Solutions Pvt Ltd., was the Event Partner.
The event was divided into 9 rounds each comprising of 12 participants preparing their tea with distinctive tastes. Each participant was provided with basic ingredients like tea powder, milk, sugar, water, along with induction stoves, pans, strainers, bowls by the sponsors and the organisers.
After several rounds tea tasting and crucially judging each and every contestant on the basis of the flavour, presentation, hygiene, tea recipe 10 finalists were selected. In the finals the selected 10 contestants were further asked to prepare the same tea recipe as they made in the prelims and were judged on the criterion of their consistency of preparing with same taste, colour and feel as the first time.
Judges selected 5 winners at the final round. Asha V M from Madhapur, bagged the first prize of Rs 1 lakh by making ‘Sugarcane Tea’. Second position holder senior citizen Kafeel Unnisa from Charminar made her speciality ‘Shahi Kesar Tea’ and won Rs 50,000. Whereas runners-up Urooj Fatima from Agar Pura, Rajini Liju from Secunderabad and Archana Sugandh from Somajiguda won Rs 25,000 each. Asha said, “The moment I saw the advertisement of Hybiz Telangana Tea Championship in our newspaper I knew I had to participate in the competition. I love to experiment in the kitchen and enjoy making chai masalas of various flavours.”
“I love tea and so does my whole family. Our day never starts without a cup of tea. I feel tea act as an energy booster for me. Also, tea has many medicinal and health benefits which many don’t know about,” said Unnisa.
Dr Sandhya Rani, CEO, Hybiz Tv and Telugu Now, said, “I knew We Indians love tea, but the response has been overwhelming. I am glad that through Telangana Tea Championship, Hybiz Tv is able to present an interesting concept like this as well as a platform for our Hyderabad ladies to showcase talent in front of such dignitaries.”
