Hospitality veteran Oshtori appointed as general mgr at The Park Mumbai

Shahrom Oshtori has been appointed as the new general manager at The Park Mumbai. He began his career in the hospitality industry in 2004, and has worked his way up from various managerial and senior managerial positions.
Oshtori, whose interest in hospitality, which later grew into his passion, started at an early age. He began his career in hospitality at the JW Marriott Mumbai as food and beverage associate, assisting at In Room Dining and Spices.
From lead associate to food and beverage team leader at the JW Marriott, he subsequently moved into various positions. He also worked as the assistant restaurant manager, and later as restaurant manager at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai.
As assistant food and beverage manager at the Taj Mahal Palace and Towers Mumbai, Oshtori supervised all food and beverage outlets, and at The Sofitel Mumbai BKC, he was part of the pre-opening team of the first Sofitel in India as director of food and beverage manager.
His next step as vice-president, operations at Gourmet Investments Private Limited included responsibilities that were deeply focussed on guest experiences and operational requirements.
At The Park Hotels, Oshtori’s responsibilities include providing leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of the service culture, maximised operations and guest satisfaction under his leadership.
The team strives to exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer and property associates. When it comes to leadership, he believes strongly in pushing boundaries and setting new bars, not by doing things differently, but by doing different things. Similarly, rather than think outside the box, he prefers to approach conundrums as if there is no box at all.
