Diwali is the festival to binge on your savouries, mithais and classic, aged wines. Every Diwali party needs the perfect fizz to turn into the most memorable party of the year. Grover Zampa Vineyards has launched another luscious addition to the La Réserve range to meet your festive needs. The first vintage, Red released in 1998, was a brainchild of the company and world’s renowned wine expert, Michel Rolland.

Additionally, the brand also launched La Reserve, Blanc. The delectable Indian wine is widely regarded as the best Réserve in India and is relished by epicureans in the most exclusive restaurants in over 20 countries.

Continuing with the legacy of this range, the brand has introduced the delightful La Réserve Fumé Blanc. Made with the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety, it is fermented, and aged in French oak barrels for 6 months. These oak barrels give the wine a rich and creamy texture along with the citrusy, herby, minerally aromas and high acidity typical of the grape variety. It boasts of rich history.

It was curated by an expert American winemaker, Robert Mondavi, in 1960s when Sauvignon Blanc was losing its sheen in US.  To revive and use Sauvignon Blanc grape, he aged the Sauvignon Blanc in oak barrels and invented the name, Fume Blanc.

Vivek Chandramohan, CEO, Grover Zampa Vineyards, said, “Each grape variety is different, so it is interesting to see how the grape blends with the addition of a catalyst. Maturing this variety of grape in the French oak barrels, gives us not only a rich and creamy wine but also citrus and herb aromas. This unique and first of its kind blend in India will be the new favourite for your loyal wine aficionados.”

It delightfully releases hints of mango and citrus with notes of dry herbs, lime leaf and gooseberry complemented by complex aromas of vanilla. Matured and fermented for 6 months in large French oak barrels delivers a well-balanced wine with a fresh palate supported by a rich and creamy structure. It has an intense mouthfeel which is seamless with underlying chalky minerality providing a linear structure and a long finish.

This Diwali serve the wine chilled at 8 to 10°C with roast chicken, grilled fish, pastas, or creamy brie and goat cheese from the cheese platter.
